Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye has completed a 1-year switch to Greek Super League side Aris Thessaloniki F.C after been without a club since the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
According to the club’s official Twitter handle and website, the 30-year-old Nigerian international will be at the club until the summer of 2020.
“ARIS FC announces the acquisition of Brown Aide Ideye.
“The 30-year-old Nigerian striker, born on October 10, 1988 in Lagos, signed a one-year contract with our team,” the statement in Greek language read in part.
Interestingly, the 2013 AFCON winner, who previously won the Greek league title with Olympiacos between 2015 and 2017 tweeted a short statement after sealing the deal.
“Grateful and excited about this chapter,” noted Ideye, whose last European adventure took him to La Liga campaigners Malaga where he made 13 appearances during his short loan spell.
Ideye, who had his best moment in Europe while at Dynamo Kiev in the Ukrainian topflight, also plied his trade with West Brom in the English topflight
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye is set join a top German Bundesliga outfit in the ongoing winter transfer window in January 2019.
According to a BrilaFM report, the 30-year-old forward is keen on ending his career of the high after a tough spell at Chinese Super League side, Tianjin TEDA.
