- Paul Pogba is linked with a switch to Real Madrid Man United this summer
- The Frenchman is reportedly set to hand in a transfer request ahead of the new season
- Bruno Fernandes and four other players have been listed as possible replacement
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has publicly confirmed his desire to quit the club this summer for a new challenge elsewhere.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and a possible sensational return to Juventus has been mooted.
The Frenchman is understood to be ready to hand in a transfer request at United to force a move out ahead of the new season.
With Pogba potentially on the move, Legit.ng brings you five possible players who can replace him at Old Trafford:
1. Bruno Fernandes
The Portuguese star has been a subject of transfer speculation, and has already been linked with a switch to Man United.
He has previously acknowledged he would be open to a move should an offer come in for him.
With age still on his side, the attacking central midfielder would perfectly fit Pogba's shoes.
2. Adrien Rabiot
The Paris Saint-Germain would possibly be the cheaper option as he is already out of contract with the French giants.
The midfielder is understood to have already received huge contract offers from a number of clubs.
However, his huge wage demands are said to be a put off with PSG already making it clear they will not be offering him a new deal.
As such, United stands a pole position to land him this summer.
Whereas he may not possess similar skills to Pogba's, he would certainly patch up United's midfield.
3. Youri Tielemans
The Belgian made his debut in the Premier League last season with Leicester City.
He was on loan at the King Power stadium from French side, Monaco.
His impressive performances with the Foxes has since attracted the attention of Man United who are understood to have already made two approaches.
Having made his intent to play in the Premier League clear, it would be up to the Red Devils to move with speed to secure the transfer.
4. Christian Eriksen
The Tottenham midfielder recently confirmed he is open to a transfer away from the north London side.
The announcement put top clubs on Red alert and Man United may now have to contend with Real Madrid's interest in their pursuit to land Eriksen.
But with Pogba eyeing a move to Madrid, then Eriksen would consider a switch to United - a club bigger in stature than Spurs.
5. Philippe Coutinho
Having flopped at Barcelona despite his big money switch to the Camp Nou, a return to the Premier League for the Brazilian star would be a welcome idea.
He has in the recent past been linked with Man United and it is now an open secret Barcelona would not mind losing him.
However, he would cost his potential suitor a staggering fee and an astronomical wage offer to lure him from the La Liga.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will offer Paul Pogba another chance to become captain in a bid to keep him at Old Trafford.
Antonio Valencia's departure at the club means that Solskjaer will pick a new skipper for next season's campaign.
And it is understood that the Norwegian is willing to make the World Cup winner the new leader of his team with hope of convincing the Frenchman to stay at United.
