Currently trending on social media is a video of a thief who was caught stealing, given food to eat before being flogged by some students of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education in Lagos.

Everyday, stories of armed robbery, kidnapping and even petty thievery continue to reflect how the insecurity in Nigeria growing at a disturbing rate and this story is no different.

A video circulating the internet has left many social media users amused. A thief was recently caught by some students of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education in Lagos.

Rather than pounce on him and even met out jungle justice, the students first fed the thief before proceeding to flog him.

In a similar story, a thief was made to clean the gutter after he was caught stealing.

According to a Twitter user who shared photos from the incident, he was caught stealing but rather that met out jungle justice as is usually the case in Nigeria, he was made to clean their gutters.

The post reads: "Instead of setting him ablaze with a tyre around his neck, residents gave this petty thief a shovel to clean up gutters as his punishment stealing. They even bought him pure water o, lol."
