- KT Robbins, now 97, and Jeannine Pierson, now 92, first met when they were aged 24 and 18 respectively

- The two fell in love when Robbins was stationed at Briey, a northwestern French town where Pierson lived with her family

- Two months after, KT had to live for work and was unable to return until 75 years later

- Their reunion was captured on camera and the photos are heart-melting

The story of 97-year-old KT Robbins and 92-year-old Jeannine is what love novels and movies are made of. Robbins, an American veteran, met and fell in love with Pierson in the midst of World War II. However, the two got separated two months after they met only to be reunited 75 years later.

It so happened that 24-year-old KT met 18-year-old Jeannine, a french gorgeous lady when he was stationed to a her hometown, Briey, a northwestern French town, and instantly fell in love in 1944. The two were inseparable and spent two months exploring the bubble of love that they had found themselves in.

Shortly after, duty called and Robbins a young American soldier in the US Army as at then was sent to the Eastern Front to fight against the Axis Powers.

Their separation was painful and while speaking in an interview with France 2, KT, stated that he promised Jeannine that he will be back. "I told her maybe I'll come back and take you, but it did not happen like that."

Pierson was left in tears as she watched her lover drive off, uncertain of his return. "When he left in the truck I cried, of course, I was very sad,' added Jeannine, whose last name is now Pierson. "I wish, after the war, he hadn't returned to America."

After the war, Robbins, who enlisted in the 26th Infantry, First Division in 1940 and later volunteered to serve in a bakery battalion, returned to America.

Back in America he met and married his wife of 70 years, Lilian. Unfortunately, she died at the age of 92 in 2015. Pierson on the other hand found someone else and also married in 1949, having five children in the course of the marriage.

75 years later, both widowed, the two lovers set to reunite as they never forgot about each other. With an old photo black-and-white Robbins had saved for decades, he started the search for his one and only French lady, Jeannine.

With the help of French journalist, KT was able to locate her at her retirement which was 27 miles from where the two first met.

"Jeannine, I love you girl," Robbins proclaimed as they shed tears and locked lips once again, for the first time in 75 years.
