Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajamiamila has made his first appointment a few minutes after emerging winner, The Nation reports.
He reportedly appointed honourable Sanusi Rickiji, former speaker of Zamfara state as his chief of staff
He also thanked Yakubu Dogara, the immediate past speaker of the house for his role in his emergence.
Gbajabiamila was elected by members of the House of Representatives to pilot the affairs of the House for the next four years.
The new speaker, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress, is representing Surulere 1 federal constituency in the National Assembly.
Gbajabiamila was born on June 25, 1962, attended Mainland Preparatory School. He attended Igbobi College in Yaba, Lagos, King William's College on the Isle of Man, United Kingdom, Atlanta's John Marshall Law School, United States, and the University of Lagos.

In a statement by his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Tuesday, June 11, the president also saluted all the national legislators and their political parties for their display of patriotism and non-partisanship before and during the election.
