The lovebirds' kind act came just days after they pledged to pay for surgeries of 1000 children in need through their charity organisation, BigShoe.

"Many fans have asked me, my close relatives and friends about our wishes for tomorrow's wedding. As a professional footballer I am in a fortunate and privileged position," Ozil wrote.
"However, I invite everyone who is willing and able to help to support a very special project close to both of our hearts that we will undertake with BigShoe," he announced.

Ozil and Amine went public about their relationship in 2017 before their engagement in June 2018.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan played the role of Mesut Ozil's best man during the Arsenal star’s wedding on Friday, June 7, in Istanbul.

According to BBC news report, Ozil, who has Turkish background, caused a stir on the social media uploading pictures with Erdogan ahead of last summer’s World Cup in Russia.

However, he retired from international football, citing the "racism and disrespect" he suffered after photos went viral in Germany.
