- Yannick Carrasco could become Arsenal's first signing during this summer's transfer window
- The 25-year-old wants to return to Europe after just one year in the Chinese Super League
- Carrasco spent three seasons at former club Atletico Madrid scoring 17 goals in 87 appearances
Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms to sign Belgian midfielder Yannick Carrasco this summer.
The 25-year-old is currently contracted to Chinese League side Dalian Yifang until 2022 after joining them from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth €11 million in February 2018.
He has scored seven goals and created two other assists for his side after ten appearances in all competitions this campaign.
However, the Mirror reports that the midfielder was linked with a loan move to the Emirates Stadium in January 2019, but the moved hit brick walls after both clubs failed to agree a deal.
According to SportMediaSet, Carrasco has agreed a deal to become an Arsenal player when he said in an interview that: "Negotiations are going well.
"I am aware that I am an important player for the team but I hope the chairman understands and they let me leave.
"From a personal and family point of view, I would like to return to Europe and stay closer to my family. The adjustment for my family was also difficult over there.
“I have become a lot more mature and have learned a lot. Also on the field, where I had to take more responsibility. But my wish now is to return."
The north Londoners will now have to meet the demands of the Chinese club to achieve their aim of signing the attacker.
Premature reports suggest both clubs have reached a £30 million deal, especially with the club also monitoring Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser - whose contract situation means he would be cheaper than his Belgian counterpart.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Yannick Carrasco is plotting a sensational return to Europe this summer after a brief stint with Chinese Super League side, Dalian Yifang.
According to reports, the former Atletico Madrid winger is already in advanced talks with Arsenal over a possible switch.
Carrasco has been a long-term target for Unai Emery and Arsenal, with the Gunners initially plotting a move in January 2019 before signing Denis Suarez instead.
