The All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the presidential election petition tribunal to cancel the suit filed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, June 11, prayed the tribunal to strike out the petition filed Atiku challenging re-election on the grounds that it is fundamentally defective, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Monday, June 10, dismissed the petition of the Coalition for Change (C4C) against the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23 presidential election.
The counsel representing Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wole Olanipekun and Lateef Fagbemi, informed the court that their clients were yet to be served with a copy of the petition.
Olanipekun said at the last adjourned date, the panel had granted an application for substituted service but that up till Monday morning, the petitioners were yet to serve the processes on the first respondent.
