- The former lawmaker said his wife said he should not try donating his severance just like Saraki did

The wife of the former senator who represented Kaduna Central during the 8th National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has warned her husband against donating his severance package to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and other victims of killings in the northern part of the country.

Legit.ng reports that the senator made this known on Monday, June 10, on his Twitter handle. He said when he forwarded a message about how the former Senate president, Bukola Saraki, donated his severance package to the Leah Sharibu’s family and the IDPs, she pretended not to read it.

According to him, his wife's reaction depicted that he should not make any donation out of his severance package.

Senator Sani, however, noted that why he resent the message, his wife simply replied: "I know you well well, make you no try am."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that President of the eighth Senate, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, directed that the National Assembly management should distribute his severance allowance to families of three victims of the insurgency in the northeast, This is even as he also directed that children of late senators be also included in the list of beneficiaries.

It was reported that in a statement signed by his special adviser on media and publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki stated that the severance allowance should be used to support the families of Leah Sharibu, who is being held by Boko Haram.

He said that part of the money should also be donated to the families of two humanitarian workers abducted and subsequently murdered by Boko Haram insurgents - Hussaini Ahmed Khoisan and Hauwa Liman.
