Manchester City superstar Bernardo Silva has been named as the 2019 Nations League player of the tournament after helping his country Portugal to win the title on Sunday night, June 9.
Portugal defeated Holland 1-0 in the final of the Nations League as Bernardo Silva provided the assist that made Goncalo Guedes to score the winning goal.
Having won treble with Manchester City last season in the Premier League, Bernardo Silva was excited to have been named as the best player in the Nations League.
''For me to finish this way it's just amazing, I'm so, so happy with my season. I'm very happy at the moment.
''So happy to end it this way with these fantastic people that helped us over the past two games, and now it's time to rest and prepare for next season and try to do even better.
''I'm very proud to have won the first title with my country and of course if you can add to that the [individual] awards you just said, it's even better,'' Silva told Sky Sports.
The 24-year-old also made it to the team of the tournament at the just concluded Nations League campaign.
