Cristiano Ronaldo has won his second silverware for Portugal following their 1-0 win over Netherlands in final of the maiden edition of the UEFA Nations League tourney.
Goncalo Guedes scored the only goal that handed coach Fernando Santos' men the triumph after normal regulation period.
Ronaldo also emerged the tournament's highest goals scorer after netting hat-trick against Switzerland in their semifinal clash.
The Juventus star featured just twice for his side and ended up winning his second title for them three years after winning his first.
He however told UEFA Nations League website that the triumph was righting the wrong of their defeat in the Euro 2004 competition on home soil.
The former Man United and Real Madrid star added that winning the title in front of their fans was a privilege - adding that the trophy was for them.
When asked how he felt, he said: "A lot of happiness! It was excellent, I'm very happy. Having won this trophy here in Portugal in front of the Portuguese people, for me this is a great honour.
He added that winning it on home soil: "Excellent. As I said before, I'm very happy to win here.
"The Portuguese people deserve it. They've supported us right from the start of the two matches, against Switzerland and today, and this trophy is for all of them. It doesn't belong to the national team but all of Portugal.

He continued: "The national team will continue, with or without Cristiano. I think the team has great potential. There are young players, players who over the years will become more mature and better.
"I want to be part of this project because I feel good and I feel able to help the national team. But, as I said, I think the national team has the potential to continue to evolve and win more trophies.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Portugal vs Netherlands ended 1-0 in favour of Portugal as they were winners of the UEFA Nations League winners.
The much anticipated encounter did not reach its expectations in the first half but chances were few and far between.
Both sides were cagey in the opening exchanges of the match but the Dutch were the better side in the attacking third.
