Woni Spotts has become the first black woman alive to have travelled the world after successfully touring 217 countries, which includes 22 territories. With 173 of 195 countries visited, Woni Spott has made history as the first African woman to travel the world.
Woni Spotts has been to almost every country on the face of the earth, including France, Southern Europe, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Italy, Vatican City, Turkey, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Iceland, Mexico, Australia, Jordan, Egypt, Tanzania, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
Woni Spotts has also successfully toured 22 territories of the world, which brings the tally of the number of 195 countries and 22 territories to a whopping 217.
It’s unimaginable yet so commendable that any person can achieve such a feat in a lifetime and that is why knowing that a black woman is the one doing this, makes it more.
The Woni blog disclosed that she completed her last country trip in September 2018, and that makes her goal of one person to have ever visited almost every country and continent in the world fulfilling.
Between 2014 and 2018, Woni visited Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Italy, Vatican City, Turkey, UK, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, Canada, Belize, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Samoa, Australia, India, Cambodia, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Tanzania, China and Mongolia.
During the mid-2000s, Woni toured Monaco, France and Southern Europe.
Some places of interest that she visited but are not official countries include Greenland, Antarctica, Tahiti, Easter Islands, The Galápagos, Hawaii, Transnistria, Western Sahara, Socotra, Tibet, and The Canary Islands.
After nearly 40 years since she took her first travels as a child with her parents, the journey has been completed.
Woni Spotts, however, took to her social media account, criticising the impossible immigration procedure she was subjected to, describing it as “Easily one of the worst experiences I’ve had with immigration.”
The travel influencer said she first had the idea to travel to every country in the world in February 2017.
At that point, she had visited about 60 countries.
