Lady reveals fire service driver went home with truck key as fire from transformer engulfs street

A Nigerian woman has called out the Lagos state fire service after a fire broke out in her area on Thursday, June 7. The woman identified as Adeola Macaulay revealed that the fire service station was a disappointment.

The aggrieved woman had taken to Facebook to narrate her experience after a fire broke out around 11:45pm at Ilegogoro in Lagos state.

According to her, the transformer in the area had caught fire and all the necessary helplines they called received no response. She noted that she decided to go to the fire service station herself to report the incident.

Despite being beaten by the heavy rain, the attendants at the station had been of no help to her. They told her that the driver had taken the key to the fire truck home with him.

She explained that the rain had gone on for about two hours. She expressed that it was God's mercy that saved them.

The lady said: "This happened about 11.45pm...At ilegogoro where we have block of flats...The Transformer caught fire...Called all the necessary help lines, no response..Went personally to Fire Service, at Barracks in the rain, called NEPA, was told the Driver went home with the key to the Vehicle... The fire went on for 2hrs....Thank God for his Mercies....All the Help lines didn't show up...its a big disappointment..."
