Sanusi may be suspended after responding to Ganduje's query - Source claims
Emir Muhammadu Sanusi of Kano may be suspended after responding to the query issued him by the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, over alleged financial misappropriation.
A source who spoke with The Cable said the emir could be suspended after responding to the query.
Alleged plot to remove Sanusi
Governor Ganduje's moves against the Sanusi started in May with allegations that he was plotting to remove the emir for allegedly opposing his re-election.

A week after the report, Governor Ganduje signed into a law splitting Kano emirate into five while Kano state Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission also revived the probe of the emirate under Sanusi.
After its investigations, the anti-corruption agency recommended the suspension of the emir, saying it uncovered that N3.4 billion was misspent by the emirate under Sanusi.
The amount was said to have been misappropriated between 2014 and 2017.
Ganduje queries Sanusi
Following the recommendation of the anti-corruption agency, Ganduje issued a query to the emir.
The office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) issued the letter on behalf of the governor.
Munir Sanusi, the chief of staff to Kano emir, confirmed the receipt of the letter, saying the emir was asked to respond within 48 hours.
“We received the query today (Thursday, June 6). The state government has demanded the response of His Highness within 48 hours. The council is studying the content,” he said.
He said the emirate council is studying the content of the query issued to the monarch.
The Kano emir was issued the query letter less than two days after he and Ganduje shook hands and prayed together during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya, said whatever Emir Sanusi might have done wrong, the state government should not have been so “harsh” on him.
Emi Danyaya was reacting to Kano state's recently created four new emirates from the Kano Emirate in what was perceived as a move to diminish Sanusi’s power and influence.
The Emir of Ningi urged politicians and governments to be more tolerant and patient in punishing erring rulers.
