Liverpool have reportedly launched a bid for £70 million offer for Lille attacker Nicolas Pepe this summer.

The 24-year-old had a hand in 33 goals in the French League last campaign - scoring 22 and assisting 11 others in the process.

SunSport quoting L’Equipe reports that Pepe's impressive performance has attracted attention of top clubs to him.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp seems to be leading the chase for the winger as he hopes to improve his squad ahead of the coming season.

Manchester United and Arsenal are among the clubs interested in securing the player's signature during this summer's transfer window.

The publication claims the Reds might be on the verge of landing Pepe’ after reports reveal the club have met Lille’s £70m valuation for the star.

Klopp wonChampions League title for his club last term, and he will be hoping to win Premier League trophy for them next season.

Hence, the need to add quality to his squad before the start of 2019-20 season in their quest to win first ever EPL title.

The signing would be a huge coup for Klopp, with Lille confirming multiple teams are in for Pepe.

Boss Christophe Galtier said last month: "Pepe will leave. Life’s like that, football’s like that today.

"He is a player of the highest level who will have a big decision to make on the choice of his next club. There will be a battle between the great European teams.

But according to the latest report by UK Sun, Barcelona have included Nicolas Pepe in their seven-man shortlist of players that would replace Luis Suarez at the Nou Camp.
