Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has appointed the immediate past commissioner for finance, Sa’idu Umar, as secretary to the state government.
The development was contained in a statement released by Malam Abubakar Shekara, the director general, media and public affairs to the governor on Thursday, June 6 in Sokoto.

Legit.ng gathers that Umar holds the traditional title of Ubandoman of Sokoto. Shekara said Tambuwal has also reappointed Alhaji Muktar Magori as his chief of staff.
He quoted the governor as congratulating the two appointees and enjoined them to re-dedicate themselves to the service of the people.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto promised to run an all inclusive and "cabal-free government," while thanking the people of the state for re-electing him.
Speaking with journalists after he was declared winner of the Sokoto governorship election, the former speaker said his government will be run by the spirit of renewed confidence the people of Sokoto reposed in him.
He attributed his victory to "God's work," adding that all fences will be mended to facilitate development to the seat of caliphate state.
