- Christian Eriksen's move away from Tottenham this summer set to suffer setback
- Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has slapped an £80m price tag on the Danish star
- Eriksen has one more season on his current deal with the north London outfit
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly slammed £80 million price tag on want-away superstar Christian Eriksen.
The Danish midfielder was said to have informed Spurs he wants to leave Spurs this summer in a bid to join Real Madrid.
Though, his current deal with the north London side expires next summer but the 27-year-old has revealed he wants to try something new at a different club.
However, his move away from the Premier League club might be botched owing to the huge amount the club chairman Daniel Levy placed on the player.
SunSport report that Levy will not sell unless he is offered double that amount — which is more than Real are willing to pay.
Eriksen who has refused to sign a new £150,000 a week deal told Danish paper Ekstra Bladet yesterday that: "I feel that I am a place in my career where I might want to try something new.
"I have the widest and deepest respect for everything that has happened in Tottenham and nor will it be negative if I stay. But I have also said that I would like to try something new.
"There are not many points that Tottenham cannot meet. If I have to go, then hopefully it will be a step up.”
Asked about Real Madrid, Eriksen said: "It is a step up. But it requires Real Madrid to call Tottenham and say they want me. And they have not done so yet, as far as I know.”
Eriksen joined Spurs in a deal worth £10.9 million has scored 49 goals in 206 appearances in Premier League encounters.
The publication claims the midfielder refused to discuss his future before or after Spurs’ 2-0 Champions League final defeat by Liverpool on Saturday.
But he added: "I hope there will be a clarification during the summer. That’s the plan. Everyone wants it best if it happens as soon as possible, but in football takes things time.
"It depends on Daniel Levy. And another club has to come in. Or I have to sit down at the table and negotiate a new contract. You can’t set a date yourself."
Legit.ng earlier reported that Christian Eriksen has revealed he is ready to quit Tottenham for another club 'to try something new’ in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Daily Mail report that the playmaker has reiterated his plans leave the club after refusing to talk about his future at the club.
He was part of the Spurs team that got beaten by Liverpool in last weekend's Champions League final in Madrid.
