The former governor of Oyo state, Rashidi Ladoja has said that the federal government's alleged plans to islamise and fulanise Nigeria would no doubt cause crisis.
Ladoja during an interview with journalists at his Bodija's residence in Ibadan, the state's capital on Tuesday, June 4, said the federal government's alleged fulanisation plan would lead to a serious crisis capable of consuming the country.
The Osi Olubadan warned the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to rescind policies and programmes aimed at the alleged plans.
He further said that religion had never been a problem for the country until recently that it began to cause division across the country, adding that Boko Haram insurgents did not attach themselves with Islam nor call themselves an Islamic group.
"They only came up with opinion that Western education is a sin," he said.
He said Nigeria had been long remained a secular state that allows everybody to practise his/ her religion without force or duress.
Meanwhile, the former governor has backed the decision of Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde to proscribe the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW) and the dissolution of the local councils in the state.
He stressed that any act of causing chaos and breach of peace in the state should be instantly curtailed by the governor.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Governor Makinde banned the activities of the NURTW in the state. He declared the activities of the union illegal with immediate effect and also announced the taking over of all parks and garages in the state.
A statement signed by the governor which was read by his chief of staff, Bisi Ilaka, asked the people of the state to go about their lawful duties without fear of molestation.
The statement added that a combined security task force has been put in place in every community of the state for peace and order.
