The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum has endorsed former Abia governor, Orji Kalu for the office of the deputy Senate presidency in the 9th National Assembly.
Comrade Shettima Yerima, the leader of the forum, described the former governor as one who has been of great worth to Nigeria's economy and politics, adding that Kalu has what it take to foster harmony among lawmakers in the National Assembly, Leadership reports.
Yerima in a statement said: "As we await the June 11 inauguration of the national assembly, we believe that Senator-elect, Abia North Senatorial District, Dr. Orji Kalu should be considered for the position of Deputy Senate President.
“We believe that with Kalu’s antecedents in the private and public sectors, he will alongside the Senate President sustain a healthy relationship with the executive and judiciary arms of government in a bid to build a prosperous Nigeria.
“Kalu has over the years played key roles in advancing the cause of the people and as such he is the right choice for the position of deputy senate president in the 9th national assembly.”
