Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe has reportedly submitted a transfer request to leave Paris Saint Germain this summer.

The Frenchman cast doubts over his future at the Parc Des Princes after dropping a hint he might be quitting the club if he does not get more responsibility.

Mbappe won the French Ligue 1 player of the year following his impressive contribution towards PSG's success in the league last term.

He narrowly missed the European golden boot to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, having scored 33 goals - three less than that of the Argentine at the end of the season.

SunSport quoting Spanish TV channel El Chiringuito report that the 2018 World Cup winner has tendered his transfer request to leave the Ligue 1 champions.

And this is coming amid Real Madrid's interest in the striker, and if they fail to succeed in their bid for him, they will turn to sign former Barcelona star Neymar.

It will be recalled that Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane eyes a massive squad overhaul this summer, having successfully landing Luka Jovic earlier this week.

Meanwhile, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed he would not be able to keep either player from leaving Parc des Princes beyond the summer following reports the pair have fallen out.

He told reporters: "As a coach, I do want them to continue, but this is football, we are not naive.

"Many clubs want to transfer many players and the market is crazy, but if you ask me, the coach, yes, I want them here next season. But if they are not, we will find solutions."

Speaking of his future after being named as the Ligue 1 Player of the Year, Mbappe said: "It's very important moment for me, I come to a turning point in my career.

"I have discovered a lot here, and I feel it is perhaps the moment to have more responsibility.

"I hope that can maybe be at Paris Saint-Germain, that would be a great pleasure, or perhaps elsewhere with a new project."

Legit.ng earlier reported that Kylian Mbappe has revealed his future does not lie with Paris Saint-Germain during French football awards suggesting he might be moving on during the summer window.

The World Cup winner made this known while accepting the Ligue 1 player of the year award at the end of last season.

He admitted that despite claiming the prestigious price, he was not able to achieve some set goals.
