- A Nigerian businessman named Martin Beck Nworah shared an encounter he had with a beggar
- This beggar roughly demanded 'bottled water' from a female hawker despite the fact he looked hale and hearty
- Many Nigerians have given their opinions about the action of the 'entitled' individual
Martin Beck Nworah, a businessman, recently collided into a scene which he considers very disturbing and emblematic of the Nigerian condition. According to him, he was waiting for his partner at a particular place in Lagos.
Just where he was waiting, a woman was busy selling drinks and bottled water. She put her wares on the floor and moved in different directions trying to sell. Amidst this, a man walked up to her and asked her to give him bottled water.
The man was asked to take sachet water but he blatantly refused. He wanted the chilled, bottled water that was up for sale. After some hesitation, the woman eventually handed him the water thinking he would leave her alone.
But this beggar did not go after having his fill of the bottled water. He still demanded for a soft drink. Surprised at this defiant form of begging, Martin wrote an epistle in which he compared the beggar to most average Nigerians who feel entitled and blame people for their misfortunes;

Recently, Omoni Oboli schooled an online beggar who asked her for N1000 to feed. The Nollywood actress advised the individual to get self-motivation and start a business, however small it may be.
