Barely a week after he officially came to power, the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has signed into law, the 2019 appropriation passed by the State House of Assembly.
The appropriation act which is N873,532,460,725 comprised of N479, 691,73,705 and N393,841,387,20 for capital and recurrent expenditures respectively.
This is coming over one month after the Lagos State House of Assembly passed the bill presented to it by former Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, in February 2019.
Earlier, Sanwo-olu appointed a former head of service in the state, Folasade Jaji, as the new secretary to the state government.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, on Thursday, May 30, in Lagos. Jaji, a chemist, had served as the 17th head of service of the state’s Public Service.
She joined the Lagos state civil service on October 27, 1980 at the state judicial service commission before she was deployed to the governor’s office, department of political affairs where she served for two years, between 1980 and 1982.
Recall Legit.ng reported that the governor on Friday, May 31, also appointed Tayo Ayinde as his chief of staff, and Gboyega Soyannwo as deputy chief of staff.
