Social media is still buzzing with the news of boxing star Anthony Joshua’s defeat after his match with Mexican boxer Andy Ruiz Jr on Saturday, June 1.
Legit.ng reported that Joshua lost his IBF, WBA and WBO titles after he was knocked out by Ruiz in the seventh round of the boxing match.
Reacting to the unexpected turn of events, popular Nigerian celebrities Don Jazzy, Olamide, Tunde Ednut among others all took to their respective social media pages to share words of support and encouragement to one of their own.
However, it appears the reaction to the loss is far from over as social media users have now found a way to attribute the boxer’s defeat to Canadian rapper, Drake.
Many of social media are suggesting that the rapper has a way of jinxing the chances of success of anyone that comes too close to him at a pivotal point in their careers.
Further driving the existing narrative, the boxing legend actually shared a photo post of him and Drake on his Instagram page weeks before the match, with a caption in which he categorically stated that he intends to break the ‘Drake curse’.
