Aisha Buhari visits victims of bandits attack in Katsina

Wife of the president, Aisha Muhamadu Buhari, on Saturday, June 1, arrived Katsina on a one day visit to sympathise with victims of bandits attack.

The presidential plane she was on landed at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport at about 11. 15am on Saturday, June, Daily Trust reports.

Aisha Buhari was received by the secretary to government of the state, Mustapha Inuwa, alongside top government officials.

During the visit, Aisha Buhari is expected to be at Batsari local government and Gidan Baki in the state metropolis where some of the victims of banditry are seeking protection.

Meanwhile, earlier reported that the police in Katsina state have confirmed the killing of 10 persons by bandits at Gobirawa and Sabawa villages in Safana local government area of the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s public relations officer, SP Gambo Isah, on Wednesday, May 1, in Katsina.

He said that the bandits came on about 150 motorcycles at about 6.10pm on Tuesday, April 30, and attacked the two communities.

Isah also said that the bandits rustled a number of animals and took away other valuables after killing the innocent persons.

He revealed that the command immediately dispatched police patrol teams to the affected communities, engaged the hoodlums in gun duel and chased them away.

According to him, the police are making efforts to arrest the hoodlums.

“We will do everything possible to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice and bringing to an end the activities of these rascals,” he said. ( -> We have upgraded to serve you better
