It is the chance of a lifetime for stand-in Ruiz and a major step up in class in his boxing career should he beat Joshua in New York on Saturday, June 1.
"I think I can beat Ruiz. If Wilder is not available, I want Fury.
"I said I want to meet Wilder, chat to him and the next day he announces a fight with no date or venue attached to it. I still say there is hope but I think the next person I want then is Fury,'' Joshua said according to BBC.
Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua is unbeaten as a pro in 22 fights winning 21 by KO while Andy Ruiz has lost just one of 32 fights forcing 21 knockouts.
Previously, Legit.ng had reported how Anthony Joshua wished Jarrell Miller "good luck" following his failed test to banned substance, but added he "doesn't deserve to be in the ring with me or any other heavyweight right now".
The American was due to fight Joshua in his first fight in the United States, for the world heavyweight championship.
But the unbeaten Miller was denied a licence after an "adverse finding" from a sample taken on 20 March.
