Chelsea vs Arsenal: Maurizio Sarri hints N'golo Kante could face Gunners in Europa League

Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, has hinted that N'Golo Kante might be in the starting line up when his side face Arsenal in the Europa League final on Wednesday, May 29.

The Italian born tactician admitted that the Frenchman has made tremendous improvement after taking part in the Blues training session in Azerbaijan on Tuesday.

Kante was initially a major doubt for the encounter due to the knee injury he suffered towards the end of last season.

However, with the improvement made by the midfielder, he might feature but Sarri cannot guarantee the midfielder a start.

"The problem is the timing because we had only four days to try to recover him. We are trying. At the moment we don’t know. We will try until the last moment," he said.

"He is 50-50 at the moment. Yesterday 60-40 for the no, today 50-50. He was a little bit better this morning," he divulged.

The availability of the Frenchman would provide Sarri a huge boost as he is already without the trio of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger.

"N’Golo is really important for us. He is the only defensive midfielder we have. Without N’Golo it’s a problem for us," Sarri admitted.

Despite the injuries, the Italian tactician would still face a selection headache up front and may be torn between starting or benching Olivier Giroud.

Giroud has been in terrific form in the competition, taking his chances in the competition after losing his starting place in the Premier League to Gonzalo Higuain.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea star N'Golo Kante suffered an injury in training and he could miss his side's 2018/19 Europa League final against Premier League rivals Arsenal.

N'Golo Kante who won the 2018 World Cup had only just recovered from injury when this latest setback reportedly occurred according to UK Sun.

This latest development is now expected to be a big blow for Chelsea who are looking forward to lift a title this year under Maurizio Sarri.
