President Buhari who emerged winner of the 2019 presidential election has been sworn in for a second term.

The president took his oath of office on Wednesday, May 29, at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

Also, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has taken oath of office and has officially started his second term tenure.

Osinbajo was sworn in by the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammad Tanko, at the Eagle Square, Abuja. He pledged to discharge his duties to the best of his ability and in accordance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared President Buhari the winner of the election after he polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 11,262,978 to lose the election with a margin of 3,928,869 votes.
