Osinbajo submits assets declaration forms ahead of inauguration

- The form shows there were no new real properties, shareholding or bank accounts

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has submitted his assets declaration forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) ahead of the oath-taking ceremony slated for Wednesday, May 29.

This is in compliance with the requirement of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).

Laolu Akande, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, office of the vice president, disclosed this on Tuesday, May 28.

NAN reports that the senior special assistant to the president on research, legal and compliance matters, office of the vice president, Dr Balkisu Saidu, submitted the completed forms to the chairman of the CCB, Prof. Mohammed Isa, on behalf of the vice president.

Compared with the assets Prof. Osinbajo declared in 2015, the forms showed no significant changes in his assets; as there were no new real properties, shareholding or bank accounts.

This is coming not long after President Muhammadu Buhari submitted his forms. The president submitted his assets declaration forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau in compliance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Legit.ng notes that submission of assets declaration form, according to Nigeria's constitution, must precede the president's oath-taking which is slated for Wednesday May 29.

The completed forms were submitted to the chairman of the CCB, on behalf of the president by Sarki Abba, senior special assistant, Household and Domestic Affairs.

Buhari's completed forms showed no significant changes in assets as declared in 2015 by him. There are no new houses, no new bank accounts at home and abroad and there are no new shares acquired.
