- Cristiano Ronaldo has been described as the 'greatest' player ever signed by Florentino Perez
- Los Blancos chief signed the Portuguese from Manchester United in 2009
- Perez insists Ronaldo's arrival overtakes the signing of Zidane, Beckham and others
Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez has said that Cristiano Ronaldo is the 'greatest' player he has signed at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Portuguese star joined Los Blancos from Manchester United in the then world record fee of about €94 million in the summer of 2009.
During his nine year reign at the club, the 34-year-old scored 450 goals in 438 appearances and led them to win Champions League title four times.
Daily Mail however reports that the administrator, who was responsible for signing the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Kaka, and David Beckham says Ronaldo's arrival was his best bit of business.
"Cristiano was an exemplary professional who never caused problems,' he told Onda Cero.
"He's the greatest player I ever signed and my relationship with him was always excellent, both as a player and a man."
Ronaldo won 16 trophies in the Spanish capital. But Perez insists his departure was not fueled by any bad blood.

"I assumed he wanted new challenges and he took advantage of that moment to embrace them,' he said. "We didn't have any problems regarding money.
"There were rumours about him wanting to leave because of the tax case, but that's not the reality of the situation. He wanted a change and to improve his contract, so he found it at Juventus and everyone was happy."
Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is confident that Chelsea star Eden Hazard will be moving to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Los Blancos have been linked with a move for the Belgian, whose contract with the Blues expires next summer.
The Galacticos are however said to be closing in on sealing a £100 million deal to see him leave Stamford Bridge.
