- Real Madrid could lose Sergio Ramos after the defender asked to leave the club
- The 33-year-old is the longest serving player at Bernabeu having played for 14 years
- Zinedine Zidane has reportedly had a long meeting with the Spaniard to remain at the club
Sergio Ramos has requested for his departure from Real Madrid on a free transfer, president Florentino Perez confirms.
The Spain international will end his 14 years at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer to continue his career in China.
Perez told radio station Onda Cero: "They [Ramos and his agent] came to see me in my office and told me they had a very good offer from China.
"But the league rules over there wouldn't permit them to pay the transfer fee.
"What was I going to tell him? We said this couldn't happen but we'd speak to the club to satisfy him but that Real Madrid could not afford its captain leave for free as that would be a terrible precedent for other players."
Reports claim the 33-year-old has urged Los Blancos to allow accept the mouth-watering offer from an unnamed Chinese Super Lig side.

However, the European champions are doing everything within their power to keep their longest serving player at the Spanish capital.
Reports claim Ramos began to have a rethink about his future with Madrid following a bust-up with Perez.
And Premier League sides, Manchester United and Liverpool have also indicated their interest in signing the controversial defender.
Ramos has since won four Champions League titles, four La Liga titles and two Copa del Rey competitions since joining from Sevilla in 2005.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Zinedine Zidane has told Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos he wants him to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, reports in Spain claim.
The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu after spending 14 years at the club, following a meeting with President Florentino Perez recently.
