Fabio Quagliarella who plays for Italian side Sampdoria has finished the 2018/19 Serie A season as the highest goal scorer with 26 goals beating Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 36-year-old forward however proved that age is just a number considering his performances in the out-gone season which helped him win the Golden Shoe.
Despite winning the Serie A title with Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo only managed to score 21 goals and he has now gone four seasons without a League Golden Boot.
Cristiano Ronaldo even failed to finish on second position on the goal chart in Italy.
Atalanta's Duvan Zapata came second to Quagliarella with 23 goals, while AC Milan's Krzysztof Piątek came third with 22.
According to Daily Mail, stats also show that Fabio Quagliarella has the most assists from the top five scorers in Serie A.
Quagliarella grew up in the youth ranks of Gragnano before moving to Torino where he made his debut in Serie A on May 14, 2000 in a 2–1 victory over Piacenza.
Throughout his career, he has played for eight different Italian clubs winning three consecutive Serie A titles from the 2011–2012 to 2013–14 season with Juventus.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reportedly emerged as target for Italian champions Juventus ahead of next season.
And Cristiano Ronaldo is said to be pleased with Pep Guardiola's likely appointment as the next coach of the Turin based side.
