Victor Osimhen netted the fastest goal in the history of the Belgian First Division A on Sunday, May 26, at the Bosuilstadion (Deurne).
Osimhen needed just 8.15 seconds to break the deadlock during Sporting Charleroi’s 3-2 defeat to Antwerp.
The performance also saw Osimhen end Imoh Ezekiel’s previous fastest goal record netted on August 11, 2013 after 10.8 seconds for Standard Liege against Racing Genk.
The Nigerian international Osimhen captalized on a mix-up in Antwerp defence, to burst into the opponent’s goal area before smashing home a right footed shot past Antwerp shot-stopper Sinan Bolat.
Interestingly, ahead of the final league fixture, Osimhen has already emerged the winner of the Belgian Golden Shoe with 18 goals before adding one more goal to end the campaign with 19 league goals.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Victor Osimhen is a transfer target for Italian giants AC Milan and Premier League club Southampton.
The youngster who is on loan at Belgium club Charleroi from Wolfsburg, has had a successful season.
According to Daily Sun, the 20-year-old has verbally agreed a deal with AC Milan, before heading to LOSC Lille on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
However, Southampton are keen on talking him out of that deal to join them in the summer, as they are confident the player will successfully obtain a work permit.
