The Taraba state governor, Darius Ishaku, has declared his assets ahead of the inauguration of his second term in office scheduled for Wednesday, May 29.
The declaration, which complied with the requirements for all public office holders in Nigeria, was issued in a statement by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Bala Dan Abu, Vanguard reports.
This statement said: “the documents were submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau on Friday May 24, 2019.”
It further stated that “Gov Ishaku declared his assets in fulfilment of the requirements of the Nigerian Constitution and the Code of Conduct Bureau for public officers.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Ishaku as the winner of the Taraba state governorship election.
INEC's returning officer, Shehu Iya, made the announcement around 3.50am on Tuesday morning, March 12, at the INEC office in Jalingo, the state capital.
The official stated that Governor Ishiaku scored a total of 520, 433 votes to defeat his closest contender, Sani Danladi, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) who recorded 362, 735 votes across the 16 local government areas of the state.
