Former Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui has reportedly contacted Premier League side Chelsea for the possibility of him replacing Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri has been under serious pressure at Chelsea with many reports suggesting that the Blues' board want to wait till after the Europa League final before making a decision on his future.
And according to the latest report by The Times, Julen Lopetegui has made his interest known to Chelsea chiefs for him to replace Sarri.
The 52-year-old has been out of work since October 2018 when he was sacked for the second time within six months of his managerial career.
He had only been in charge of the Galacticos for 14 matches before a 5-1 mauling at the hands of Barcelona proved to be the final straw for the Bernabeu board.
Sarri failed to win any trophy at the just concluded 2018/19 Premier League season although he has a chance in the Europa League final against Arsenal.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri threatened to walk out of his contract if winning the Europa League is the only condition to keep his job.
The Blues battle fellow Premier League side Arsenal in the final of UEFA second tier championship next week in Azerbaijan.
Sarri will be hoping to win silverware for the club to make his first season memorable, having lost out of other domestic trophies.
