Michelle Mathuloe has become a good example of turning lemons into lemonade after she started her own business shortly after being retrenched.

Michelle was retrenched from her job as a pharmacist's assistant in 2016. She decided to take the opportunity to get training on how to manufacture furniture using pallets and car tires.

She used her Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) to buy equipment that she needed to start her business: Puni Vibrant Creation.

Mathuloe sells her products in her hometown near Rustenburg, North West. She adds that although she does receive orders from outside the North West, she is is still working on growing her brand.
