The police command in Adamawa has reported that the vulture in its custody in the Maiha local government area of the state has consumed meat worth N30,000.
The vulture belonged to a woman who was arrested by men of the force after residents in the area complained that the animal's presence was fearful to them, Daily Trust reports.
DSP Othman Abubakar, the police spokesman in Maiha, said that while the command will carry investigation into the bird, more cost will be incurred to feed it.
Speaking on the development, Adamu Audu Madaki, the police commissioner in the state, reassured residents in the area that the command will get to the root of the issue.
Madaki said: “So, we want to ascertain what the vulture is meant for.”
A lot of persons also insinuate that the vulture was a woman who turned to a bird.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Madak confirmed the detention of a suspicious vulture in a small community in the state. The police commissioner said the vulture was detained due to residents' complaints.
On Monday, May 20, Madaki explained that some members of the community in Maiha local government area had reported that the vulture owned by a female member of the community was unnerving them.
