However, the former Real Madrid and Chelsea handler insisted that third loss might dent the confidence of the manager, who is yet to win silverware for the Reds in over four years.

The Reds were on the brink of winning their first ever Premier League title (since its name was changed) but Manchester City beat them to the prize with just one point at the end of the season.

"If Jurgen wins it's an incredible achievement for him," Mourinho told Sky Sports News, in his first UK broadcast interview since he was sacked by Manchester United.

"If Jurgen doesn't win, you lose three Champions League finals...phew...that has to be really, really hard.

Mourinho further stated that he believes Klopp is only thinking on winning and not bottling the title for the third time he is appearing at the big stage.

"But he is a very positive guy, I'm sure he's just thinking about winning.
