Atiku Bagudu, the Kebbi state governor, has been elected as the chairman of Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).
Legit.ng reports that the forum which is made up of governors belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC), made this known in a tweet on Friday, May 24.
It was gathered that Bagudu was elected at the meeting of the governors held in Abuja on Thursday night, May 23, at Imo governor’s lodge.
Bagudu, whose election was unanimous, replaced the Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha whose tenure will expire on May 29.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Governor Kayode Fayemi, who is the former minister of mines and steel development, was elected as chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum during a meeting of the forum in Abuja.
It was reported that the Ekiti state governor had been the favourite to pilot the affairs of the forum after the governors reportedly rejected Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state.
