Paris Saint Germain star Kylian Mbappe is reportedly angry at his manager Thomas Tuchel as his dreams of winning this season's European Golden Shoe may have suffered a set back.

The 20-year-old is the only player seriously contending the prestigious prize with Barcelona star Lionel Messi this campaing.

SunSport however report that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winning star has expressed his displeasure at the German born tactician for dropping him for matches.

Mbappe currently has 32 goals from 28 league appearances - four behind the Argentine who wrapped up the La Liga season top of the scorers' chart with 36 goals.

The Frenchman has one more chance to achieve his dream this weekend as PSG battle Stade Reims in last league fixture for this season.

And he will be hoping he can score four goals to equal Messi's tally, or score five goals to beat the five time Ballon d'Or winner to the golden shoe award.

Mbappe missed seven matches through suspension, but the striker according to Le Parisien became frustrated after being benched for other league matches.

Tuchel benched the World Cup winning without injury concerns or other disciplinary issues despite exiting the Champions League early.

The Frenchman was certain he would have reduced the gap between himself and Messi ahead of Friday night's showdown away from home.

And this further buttresses the fact that the former Monaco star may end his reign with the Parisians despite having four more season on his current deal with them.

After receiving the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award on Sunday, the forward admitted his future could lie "somewhere else" and that he is at a "turning point" in his career.

He said: "It's very important moment for me, I come to a turning point in my career. I have discovered a lot here, and I feel it is perhaps the moment to have more responsibility.

"I hope that can maybe be at Paris Saint-Germain, that would be a great pleasure, or perhaps elsewhere with a new project."

However, the club have insisted that their talisman is not for sale: "Very strong links unite Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe - and the common story will continue next season.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Paris Saint Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe believes Lionel Messi is the only player who deserves to win the Ballon d'Or award this year.

The Barcelona captain has already scored 50 goals and 15 assists in all competitions this season, and will have a chance to increase the tally when he leads his side against Valencia for the Copa Del Rey title this month.

Messi won his sixth La Liga top scorer award having scored 36 goals and 13 assists in 34 appearances after the 2018-19 season.
