- Chelsea chiefs have a huge task on their hands this summer with a transfer ban and uncertainty surrounding their manager
Chelsea senior stars are threatening to leave the club if Maurizio Sarri remains at Stamford Bridge next season.
According to UK Sun citing Evening Standard, the Italian tactician is an unpopular figure in Chelsea’s dressing room, even as the club’s teaming fans are not comfortable with the former Napoli boss since his arrival last summer.
The report further added that senior squad members will demand to leave if the Italian retains his job.
On the other hand, Sarri is eager to know his fate, with reports suggesting Juventus are waiting to hand him a contract after Max Allegri’s exit from the Allianz Stadium.
Already, Allegri has hinted he’s eager to return to coaching duties as soon as possible, stressing that he does not want to go on a break from football.
Allegri, who won many domestic titles as Juve manager, said: "I am not particularly looking for a year off. I’ll only take a sabbatical if I have to, but otherwise the idea is to find a project that convinces me.
"Life is full of surprises and you have to be ready for anything.
"I train with joy and fun, because if I am not convinced by the squad at my disposal, I try changing things around, moving players into new positions and finding something different, otherwise I get bored,” he added.
Interestingly, the Italian manager Allegri has started learning English, as he couldjoin Chelsea next season.
Chelsea icon Lampard is another popular face the fans want back at the Bridge but he has just a year experience as a manager under his belt.
He has however led Derby to the brink of the Premier League as he prepares to take on Aston Villa in the play-off final.
