According to a report by BBC on Monday, May 20, new phones produced by the teclo will not have access to key apps like Playstore, YouTube and maps.

The Donald Trump administration has thus added Huawei on a list of companies that must seek clearance and a license to trade with the US.

Experts have expressed concern that the move will deal a blow to the company arguing that smartphone users may not want to purchase devices without access to playstore and security updates.

It has, however, emerged that Huawei had foreseen the situation and it has plans afoot to develop its app gallery.

"Huawei has been working hard on developing its own App Gallery and other software assets in a similar manner to its work on chipset solutions. There is little doubt these efforts are part of its desire to control its own destiny," said Ben Wood, from the CCS Insight consultancy.
