EFCC arrests 22 suspected Yahoo boys in Delta; recovers exotic cars, gadgets

- EFCC operatives have arrested 22 suspected internet fraudsters in Delta state, in an early morning raid

- The suspects were arrested, following an intelligence report by operatives of the anti-graft agency

- Laptop computers, iPhones, Android phones, ATM cards and three exotic vehicles were recovered from the suspects

22 suspected internet fraudsters, aged between 18 and 30, were arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) during an early morning raid in Sapele, Delta state on Friday, May 17.

The EFCC, via its Twitter handle, @officialEFCC, disclosed that the raid was carried out jointly by operatives of its Advance Fee Fraud Section, Abuja Headquarters and those from its Benin Zonal Office.

Legit.ng gathers that the suspects were arrested, following an intelligence report by operatives of the anti-graft agency.

Various items were recovered from the individuals, including laptop computers, iPhones, Android phones, ATM cards and three exotic vehicles - Benz C350, Benz ML 350 and Chrysler 300.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Ibadan zonal office of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arrested one Oginni Oluwaseyi Dayo and two others over alleged involvement in internet related offences

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday, May 14, in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state.

It was gathered that the arrest of the three followed a tip-off by a neighbour, who raised a suspicion on the reckless and flamboyant lifestyle of the suspects even though they had no known reasonable source of income.
