President Donald Trump has said he thought it is great that Pete Buttigieg, a gay married man is running for office.
In an interview Trump said even though some people may have a problem with a gay man running, it is absolutely fine by him, New York Post reports.
He said: “I think it’s absolutely fine, I do. I think it’s great. I think it’s something that perhaps some people may have a problem with. I have no problem whatsoever, I think it’s good.”
It is believed that Trump’s liberal outlook could be in conflict with the evangelical Christians, and even his vice, Mike Pence, who is against gay marriage.
It should be recalled that Buttigieg who is the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, married to Chasten Glezman in June 2018.
It was also reported that Trump when asked if Buttigieg’s candidacy was the best for America’s progress, he spent some time trying to pronounce each syllable of his name.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Robert Mueller report cleared Trump of an alleged conspiracy with Russia for his victory during the 2016 presidential election.
There was intense calls by the opposition Democrats to begin full investigation into Russia's alleged interference in the presidential election in the United States.
