Nollywood actress and producer, Omoni Oboli, has taken to social media to cry out for help after she encountered a video vendor hawking pirated copy of her works.
The issue of piracy in the Nigerian movie industry is one of the most threatening problems facing the Nollywood industry's economy. Many film producers complain of not getting their profit due to piracy of their works.
Just recently, actress Omoni Oboli took to social media to share a video of her encounter with a video vendor who was hawking pirated works including her film.
The actress confronted the man who seemed oblivious of the films being pirated copies. According to him, all he did was buy them to resell and wasn't aware that these weren't the original and approved compact disc copies.
Sharing the video, she wrote:"HELP!!! Piracy is killing us! ♀️ Dont patronize them pls! "

Omoni Oboli isn't the only one waging a war against piracy.
Just recently, Nollywood actor, Mike Ezuruonye got furious and decided to take action where necessary.
He shared a clip on Instagram where he caught one roadside hawker trying to sell him a pirated copy of a Nigerian movie.
