- Pep Guardiola wins Barclays Manager of the season for the second time running
- The Spaniard beat competitions from Nuno Espirito Santo, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino to win the prize
- Guardiola became the third manager in the history of Premier League to win the title twice in a row after Ferguson and Mourinho
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been named Barclays Manager of the season for the second consecutive time.
The Spanish born tactician guided the Citizens to their second straight Premier League title in his third season in charge of the club.
He won the 2017-18 edition with a record 100 points after 38 matches - beating competitions from other top clubs.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss beat Nuno Espirito Santo, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino to win the prize.
Guardiola was named the best manager in the EPL at the League Managers Association annual awards dinner on Tuesday evening, May 14.
City produced an impressive performance to beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-1 on the last match day and beat Liverpool to the prize with 98 points - just one point better than the Reds.
And the feat made him (Guardiola) the third manager in the history of the tournament to win back-to-back Premier League titles after Jose Mourinho and Alex Ferguson.
"It’s an honour to receive this award," Guardiola told the dinner in a video message.
"I want to share it with my players because they are the artists of everything, to my staff because we fought a lot [against] all the managers in the Premier League, especially Jurgen Klopp, an incredible contender to face till the end.
"It was a pleasure to play against all of them and hopefully do big, big battles again to win an incredible title."
The 48-year-old earlier in the season won the Premier League manager of the month for February and April following his side's superb performances in the months under review.
Guardiola has also recorded massive successes in the Bundesliga and La Liga before joining City in 2016.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester City have been crowned Premier League champions for the 2018-19 season.
The Citizens emerged victorious following their 4-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on last match day.
A goal each from Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez cancelled out Glenn Murray's early goal to emerge winners this term.
