Arsenal forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has hailed both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah after the three emerged joint-top Premier League scorers.

The three Premier League players were tied on 22 goals at the end of the 2018/19 season, thus sharing the Golden Boot award.

Aubameyang and Mane netted a brace on the final day to bring their goal tally on level with Salah who fired blanks against Wolves.

Reacting to the three winning the individual prestigious award, Aubameyang admitted the Golden Boot race was victory for Africa, adding it is a good sign for football in the continent.

It means a lot. I am really happy and proud of it. I am sharing this trophy with Mane and Salah – and I like these two guys," he told SunSport.

"We are representing Africa so it is a good sign for the Continent. I am really proud and I have to thank my team-mates for helping me to get it," he added.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker now has 32 Premier League goals in 49 appearances for the Gunners since his arrival at Emirates in January 2018.

The 29-year-old will now be seeking to wrap up the season with the Europa League title when his side battles Chelsea in the finals at Baku, Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, it was reported that from the title race, top four finish race and the chase for the Golden Boot Award, the 2018/19 Premier League season had been a closely contested affair in all spheres.

Having missed out on the Premier League title to Man City, Liverpool striking duo of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane had to settle for the Golden Boot Award, alongside Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
