Juventus have reportedly rejected the chance to appoint former Man United manager Jose Mourinho as a preferred option to replace Massimiliano Allegri.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian giants will prefer to move for Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino instead of out-of-job Mourinho.

It is believed that Allegri could leave Juventus at the end of this season after failing to win Champions League again this season – the club’s major priority.

Despite Juventus spending £100million on Cristiano Ronaldo, they again fell short of European glory, as they crashed out following a defeat to Ajax in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

This is one concern Juventus chiefs have and they believe bringing in Pochettino instead of Mourinho could help the club lift their first UCL title since 1996.

Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes offered his client to the club as a potential candidate to replace Allegri, but Juventus declined the chance to appoint him.

The report claimed that Mourinho’s managerial style is considered 'too far' by the club's hierarchy.
