Chelsea fans are extremely excited over Eden Hazard’s recent response when asked if he will sign a new deal at the club.
Hazard was on Friday, May 10, rewarded for his exceptional form this season with the Chelsea player of the year award, goal of the year award and Players’ player of the year award.
But what caught the attention of fans was his remark when asked if he would sign a new contract after picking up his awards.
He replied: "Where's the pen?".
Hazard continued: "My relationship with the fans has been really good since I came here.
"It’s always a pleasure to play at Stamford Bridge in front of the fans. That’s why I am on the pitch.
"When we play for such a great club like Chelsea at the end of the season you want to win something.
"Now we have that opportunity. We will go to Baku all together with the fans and we will be back with the trophy."
His statement has given a lot of Chelsea fans hope that their star man could remain at the club at the end of the season.
A Chelsea fan tweeted: "Man asked for a pen. Give him a freaking pen."
While another added: "He’ll give us another year, he’ll save Real £100 million & earn twice as much by signing next summer.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Hazard is reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with Real Madrid over a possible move to the Spanish capital this summer.
The 28-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Lille in a deal around £32 million in 2012, has just one more year on his current deal with the club.
He has however been offered an improved contract to extend his stay at the Stamford Bridge, but the attacker turned them down a deal to become the highest-paid player in Premier League history.
