- Kelechi Iheanacho is reportedly on the radar of West Ham United ahead of next season
- West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is in talks with the Foxes over a possible loan switch for Iheanacho this summer
- The 22-year-old Iheanacho has made just nine starts in 30 Premier League appearances so far
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho is reportedly linked with a loan switch to West Ham United in the coming transfer window.
According to reports coming of London, the ex-Man City and Hammers current boss, Manuel Pellegrini, who handed Iheanacho his first Premier League debut at the Citizens is keen to reunite with the Nigerian international.
The South American tactician signed Iheanacho while at Manchester City after the 22-year-old emerged champions and the golden ball winner with Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2013.
But after Pellegrini’s exit from the Etihad, his successor Pep Guardiola offloaded the Super Eagles star to Leicester City at the start of the 2017-2018 campaign to make room for Gabriel Jesus in the squad
At the last count, Iheanacho has made just nine starts in 30 Premier League appearances and reports claim the Foxes are open to a loan switch.
On the other hand, Pellegrini is keen on working with the attacker again, with plans to overhaul his attacking options at Hammers ahead of 2019-20 season.
The ex-Villarreal and Real Madrid boss is eager to trade the pair of Javier Hernandez and Marko Aunotovic this summer.
Interestingly, under the Chilean manager, Iheanacho enjoyed his best campaign in the English topflight after netting 12 times across all competition in his debut season at the Etihad.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Kelechi Iheanacho, has been branded a City ‘agent’ by fans on the social media, after failing to net a clear chance for Leicester against his former employers at the Etihad.
The Super Eagles forward started his Premier League career at City before joining the Foxes in the summer of 2017.
And on Monday night, May 6, Iheanacho mishandled a late chance as Leicester pushed forward for a needed equalizer against the league leaders – with the Nigerian now being accused of handing the EPL title to his former club.
