Eden Hazard showed the world why he is more than a football player after firing Chelsea to the final of this season's Europa League.

The Belgian attacker was sighted consoling Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp at the end of the shootouts at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard cleverly sent the German goalkeeper the wrong way as they Blues reach their second ever Europa League final - six years after winning the title.

While coach Maurizio Sarri's men were celebrating, Hazard went back to comfort the German goalkeeper, who could not stop his penalty from hitting the back of the net.

The Premier League outfit however progressed to the final of the tournament 4-3 on penalties after playing 2-2 aggregate draw at the end of the two legs.

And they will now face off with a familiar foe, Arsenal at the Baku Olympic Stadium on May 29 as both sides eye their first title of the season.

Afterwards Hazard said he was delighted his goal helped the club qualify for the final of the championship later this month.

He further stated according to SunSport that: "I always take my responsibility when I have to so today I score, we won.

"I am happy, the boys are happy, the fans are happy. But it’s not finished and we have another game against Arsenal.

"Against them we are struggling a bit the last two or three years so we need to go to Baku with quality and win the game."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea edged Eintracht Frankfurt 4-3 on penalties to reach this season's Europa League final.

Both sides played 2-2 aggregate draw after the two legs before deciding the game through the spot kicks.

The Blues will now battle Arsenal in a bid to win their second Europa League title later this month at the Baku Olympic Stadium.
